WI Walk - Bainton (4 miles)

Saturday, 31st May 2014

This walk is actually the June walk but it all depends on when the WI meeting falls as to when the walking group get out because the general rule is the walking group is the first Saturday after the meeting.  It makes sense to us ladies!

Peak District: CHESHIRE - Shutlingsloe (8 miles)

Sunday, 25th May 2014

A forum meet up organised by Mark.

A good walk but shame about the weather and the lack of visibility on the top of Shutlingsloe.

We did manage to meet George Osborne though, who was out walking his dog. Met a few new faces off the forum too.

The gang, ready for the off

Heading into the unknown!

Stunning pano shot of the views from the top!

Aye, we could see for, ooooh, literally feet all around!!

The other end of Shutlingsloe

Heading down under the murk

And now the top's cloud free! (typical!)

Bit of road walking alongside the beck

Aye, still no cloud now we're down here!

These were deer just grazing in the field

No walk is complete without mud
- particularly when the boardwalk is a few feet shorter than it should be!

Shutlingsloe from yet another angle
(nope, still no cloud!)

Lovely walk through bluebell filled woodland

Migraine inducing waterproof jackets!

Trentabank Reservoir

We find lots of these in the woods
I think I'd like to do this walk again some day... in better weather!

Thanks for looking 😊

East Yorkshire: Brantingham

Sunday, 18th May 2014

Met up with Ed off the forum for this 8 mile walk from Brantingham.  I think this is the walk where we went off-piste a bit near Brantingham Church - trying to find a shortcut and battling overgrown undergrowth!

This was a loooooong road in the baking hot sunshine

Finally, about to head into some shade

Peaceful views

Yes, I think this is where we went a bit off-piste

Bluebells

Lots of these dotted around the woodland
