COUNTY BAGGING: North Yorkshire - Hawnby Heather Hop (7.75 miles)

Sunday, 31st August 2014

A 7.75 mile very purple walk up and over the Hawnby Bumps.

Again, I'm writing this 3 years after the event so I'll just add pictures and annotate where I can.

First hill of the day, Easterside Hill:

It's a steep climb up!:

In amongst the heather, looking towards Bilsdale mast:

A toad!:

On the lane to the county's most expensive pub!:

COUNTY BAGGING: Shropshire - Stiperstones (9 miles)

County Bagging: Shropshire

Spent a couple of days in Shrewsbury and dragged my uncle and aunt out on a 9 mile walk...

And away we go

Name that tune

Nice woodland path

First glimpse of the Stiperstones on the horizon

Pano shot of my uncle enjoying the views

Signpost OCD

Oooh, how naughty!!!

Looking towards Wales in the distance

Posing for a picture

I think this one is called The Devil's Chair

The main one with the trig

North Yorkshire: Forge Valley and Throxenby Mere

Sunday, 17th August 2014

I wasn't over-impressed with this walk despite it being just on the edge of the National Park, although, as always, it was nice to get out in the fresh air and sunshine.

Don't mind if I do!

Aye, nice enough walk but it lacked "something".

Thanks for looking 😊

Lake District: Day 2 - Aira Falls (6.3 miles)

Tuesday, 5th August 2014

An easier day today on my own this time, with a walk along the river and many waterfalls.  If you've never been here before you follow the stream down past many, many waterfalls and wonder "is this Aira Falls?".  Believe me, they're not.  You know when you've reached Aira Falls!

A little video of Aira Force:
