COUNTY BAGGING: Cumbria - Blencathra via Scales Fell (6.5 miles)

Monday, 4th August 2014

After a weekend of housework and boring stuff I packed myself off to the Lake District for a couple of days.  I stayed at a Pub/B&B in Dockray which meant I could have an evening meal and then just collapse in an exhausted but happy heap into my bed!

I met up with Peter (and Scally the dog) from the forum for a leisurely walk up Blencathra, its highest point is Hallsfell Top at 2,848ft and is marked by an unassuming stone ring in the ground - very easy to miss!

The weather was perfect...

A thoroughly exhausting and brilliant day, finished off with this....

I'd like to return here one day and explore the Bannerdale Crags side of the Glenderamakin River.

Thanks for looking 😊
