This one's been on my "to do" list for a while. Lovely day, ankle feeling okay so off I went. Took the scenic route there over the top of the North Yorkshire Moors. Free parking in Great Ayton. Delicious coffee shop called Stamps who introduced me to Paradise Slices - highly recommended. Got a bit lost coming off Captain Cook's Monument but no great worries. Gorgeous meal in The Royal Oak Hotel - £11 for a 2 course meal plus a drink. I had braised pork with herby mash and veg and jam sponge and custard. Ankle's not too bad either :)
