It was our walking group's annual weekend away this weekend and we all met up at Mo's to arrange car sharing. There was 7 of us so we could fit comfortably in 2 cars. Gill and Karen had the cars with the biggest boot space so they drew the short straw!
We got set off at around 11.30am and headed up to
Marton Tea Rooms for a cuppa. From there it was a short drive back into Flamborough, parking on one of the side streets near the village green for the start of our walk.
The sun was shining and the wind was pleasant, a bit blustery at times but not cold. Perfect walking conditions for me.

The woodland took us all the way to Danes Dyke. We opted to follow the cliff top rather than head down these steps as we would have needed to return up and even worse set of steps.

Steps down into Danes Dyke "proper" |
Our cliff top walk brought us out to a lovely viewing point, looking along to Bridlington:

Shortly after that we headed to the coastal cliff top and found a convenient place for our lunch. I only had an apple as I knew we'd be feasting on a 3 course meal later that night.

Easy walking due to the lack of rain |
We headed back inland at Flamborough and had a short walk round the streets. Some nice stained glass windows dotted around, along with some wonderfully old stone cottages.
Although
Flamborough Castle might be a little beyond repair and renovation!...

After our walk we headed briefly to South Landing to the
Living Seas Centre before heading to North Landing for the obligatory post-walk cuppa.
The cliffs along this part of our coastline never cease to impress me. This is the bluest I've ever seen the sea and people were making the most of the warm sunshine.

We finally arrived at
Cober Hill (our overnight accommodation) at around 5.30pm and I decided I'd not done enough walking for the day so I toddled off for a roam over the stubble fields before they got ploughed.

Sun, Sea and Straw! |
Our evening meal was at 7pm and, as always, the food was delicious. As we neared the end of our meal the full moon popped its head up - Elaine mentioned it was a Harvest Moon so I went outside to try and get a pic.

The pics never turn out quite how you see them but that was my best effort.
We retired to the lounge (which we had to ourselves) and proceeded to sample Penny's home-made Sloe Gin. Mixed with Prosecco it's really rather nicshhhh (hic!).
At about midnight we headed to our beds. I didn't have my east facing room with a sea view this time - I overlooked a quiet courtyard instead. Perfect for a peaceful night's sleep.
